  1. Oddly, this is the second book today I have read limited to 25 in its print run (the first one here).
    Is this, therefore, also a short-term tontine with secret codes to something far bigger than itself, codes embedded in these pages’ versifications of theme and variation from a real rainfall measurement book of 1910?
    I wonder what spell is cast but, as with Pascal’s Wager, I shall believe, come what may, in the inchoate power of this beautiful and tantalising hand-made book. The loom of its threaded spine in particular is like a something truly made by a tiny Heath Robinson. Is God such?
